I ate my first Torta Asada here and that's all I ever order when I stop by (without mayonnaise). I like having a "grease truck bite" every once in a while (like once a month at the max). The customer service is on point. They take all forms of payment. I've never seen flies flying around near the truck. I always enjoy the Tortas even though a corner of the bread sogs if it's eaten without the wrapping and not at a proper angle with the wrapping on (at least in my experience eating them).

I had no intention of eating anything so late when we got to the hotel in Long Beach, but all my co-workers kept talking about was this truck so it had to be done. I got the carne asada burrito $7 and asked for the spiciest sauce on the side, which was guacamole. It was SO hot, but I couldn’t stop doing it to myself! I will be back as soon as possible and order a side of nachos or something too! My friends ordered the carne asada tacos and said they had been waiting for them all day! Truck was clean and customer service was wonderful.

I've tried too many trucks to count. This here is a real restaurant in a truck. Nothing tastes cheap. The service is unbeatable. Sauce is what you expect when it comes to good taste. I cannot find a better spot for cabeza meals here. It's not cash only! They've been feeding me for 2 years now and I'll always come back to this spot.

Got the carna asada burrito california style. Hit the spot, asada was crispy but tender and tasted great. Salsas complemented it well. Might be on the spicy side for folks not used to it. But delicious.

Tacos are awesome specially if you crave them at night! Service is nice even though it's a lunch truck. There are a couple benches to sit. Just would love a bit more meat in mulitas... There was barely any meat. What helped it was the cheese!

Tucked away at 1022 Locust Ave in Long Beach, Tacos El Roto redefines what a taco truck can be. This mobile gem serves up authentic Mexican flavors with a flair that feels both genuine and memorable. From the moment you approach, the clean, well-kept truck invites you in, promising more than just a quick bite.

The standout dishes here are undeniably their Asada Tacos and Al Pastor. The carne asada arrives grilled fresh to order, with tender, smoky meat paired perfectly with grilled onions, and accompanied by a vibrant trio of salsas—red, green, and creamy avocado—that dance with the freshness of cilantro, onion, and cabbage. Each bite bursts with bold flavors that strike the right balance between smoky, spicy, and tangy.

The Al Pastor tacos continue that tradition—marinated pork layered with pineapple that adds a sweet contrast, transforming every taco into a harmony of textures and tastes. The nachos offer another dimension, loaded and satisfying, ideal as a side or a shared snack that complements the main courses without overshadowing them.

Beyond the flavors, the customer experience here stands out. Patrons repeatedly praise the attentive, friendly service and the truck’s cleanliness—no small feat for a bustling taco truck. Unlike typical street food, Tacos El Roto accepts all forms of payment, moving away from the usual cash-only limitation common in many street vendors.

The consistency in quality and flavor keeps people coming back, forging a loyal following that spans years.

In essence, Tacos El Roto offers an elevated take on classic Mexican street food. It’s not just a meal—it’s an experience marked by fresh ingredients, thoughtful preparation, and genuine hospitality. For anyone wandering through Long Beach craving authentic tacos that stay true to their roots without cutting corners, this is the place to be.
